The top book, “jam it, pickle it, cure it” was a Christmas gift from my mom.  It has been inspiring in many ways – the directions are clear and the pictures are beautiful.  It inspired me to make some lovely berry jam from frozen berries this weekend.  There is also a recipe for home-made crackers I can’t wait to try.

“Again to Carthage” is just for fun – all learning and no fun is definitely dull.

I’m still learning about photography, so I look for books with simple instructions and many inspiring pictures.

Earth: The Sequel by Fred Krupp and Miriam Horn.  I can’t believe I have never read this book before.  It may be slightly dated now, but I still recognize many companies and the ideas are sound.

The last book has been on my bedside table for a while.  I follow it sporadically only, but it hope to get better about it.  The book is full of exercises to help you find the reasons you are disorganized, and some exercises to make you less so.  My favorite part of this is the methodical way you work through your whole house week by week.
